Delta Cargo, the air freight division of Delta Air Lines, has completed the full implementation of IBS Software’s iCargo product suite, marking a major milestone in its digital transformation journey and replacing a legacy system that had been in use for nearly 30 years.

The transition to iCargo modernises Delta Cargo’s operations across 252 stations worldwide, supporting more than 6,500 users and providing the technological foundation to enhance customer experience, streamline processes, and strengthen global collaboration.

Delta Cargo plays a vital role in international logistics, transporting more than 11 million shipments in 2024, including pharmaceuticals, perishables, fresh flowers and other time-sensitive goods. The iCargo rollout positions the airline to further elevate the reliability, speed, and transparency required in today’s air cargo market.

The new single cloud-based iCargo platform brings standardised processes, automation and task management tools to Delta Cargo’s global teams, enabling improved operational productivity and reducing system fragmentation. With enhanced real-time visibility, seamless data integrations and optimised workflows, the system is expected to reduce errors, accelerate turnaround times and deliver cost efficiencies.

The deployment covers key modules such as terminal operations, dock management, customs and security compliance, and premium shipment handling.

Vishal Bhatnagar, Managing Director of Cargo Operations at Delta Cargo, said:
“Partnering with IBS Software is an important step toward making it easier for customers to do business with Delta Cargo. Implementing iCargo gives us the foundation to improve speed, reliability, and transparency in our operations, while equipping our teams with modern tools to better serve our customers.”

Radhesh Menon, Vice President & Head of Strategy & Product Management, Cargo & Logistics Solutions at IBS Software, added:
“Organising a complex migration like this across multiple phases, regions and stations was a great process for our team, and I am delighted to see the successful deployment of iCargo with a digitally innovative partner like Delta Cargo. Delta Cargo’s strategic transformation journey, powered by iCargo, will become foundational to the adoption of paperless, digital tools and accelerate business transformation through cutting-edge tech like data analytics and AI.”

With the full iCargo suite now operational, Delta Cargo strengthens its position as a digitally advanced leader in the global airfreight industry.
