Gebrüder Weiss Welcomes 100 New Logistics Apprentices Across Austria, Germany and Switzerland

Gebrüder Weiss has officially welcomed 100 new logistics apprentices across its operations in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland, strengthening its long-standing commitment to vocational training. An additional 14 apprentices joined earlier this year, bringing fresh talent into the international logistics group.

Monika Mandl, Head of HR at Gebrüder Weiss, said:
“As an independent, family-owned business with a strong financial foundation, we offer young people stable career opportunities in a modern, future-focused environment. Our blend of continuity, innovation, digital technologies, and sustainable growth is particularly appealing to the next generation, who value progress and responsibility alongside security and reliability.”

Long-Term Investment in Training

Gebrüder Weiss has been investing in vocational training for more than 80 years. The strategy addresses the shortage of skilled labor while ensuring the company’s long-term growth. The goal is to retain apprentices beyond training, developing them into qualified specialists and future leaders.

This approach is supported by an internal survey conducted in 2024, where 85% of employees said Gebrüder Weiss is the right employer, and 78% expressed pride in being part of the company.

Strong Female Participation and Regional Reach

Currently, Gebrüder Weiss employs 307 apprentices at 40 DACH-region locations, with women accounting for 35% of trainees. Beyond the DACH region, 32 young people are also completing their training with the company in Hungary, Serbia, and Bulgaria.

“The many career success stories of our former apprentices show how well this model works,” added Mandl.

Although the main apprenticeship year has already begun and most positions have been filled, additional training opportunities may still be announced later in 2025.
