The British International Freight Association (BIFA) has appointed Amanda Francis as its new PR and Media Manager, where she will lead the organisation’s communications strategy, brand storytelling, and presentation of BIFA TV.

Bringing 15 years of experience in strategic communications across both public and private sectors, Amanda will be responsible for developing and executing BIFA’s national, regional, and trade PR strategy. She will work closely with senior stakeholders to enhance policy communications, elevate BIFA’s profile, and strengthen engagement with members and the media.

Throughout her career, Amanda has delivered integrated communications strategies, led thought leadership campaigns, and managed high-profile reputational issues for a range of organisations.

Her appointment comes as Ian Matheson transitions into semi-retirement after two decades as BIFA’s PR Consultant. The association expressed its gratitude for his significant contribution in raising BIFA’s profile and supporting its communications efforts over the past 20 years.

In her new role, Amanda will oversee all communications output, collaborating with cross-functional teams across PR, digital, and creative disciplines to deliver cohesive and impactful campaigns.

Steve Parker, Director General of BIFA, said: “Amanda’s track record in building strategic storytelling for leading brands makes her an excellent fit for BIFA. We look forward to her presenting BIFA TV and driving a PR strategy that enhances our voice among members and the wider media.”

Dawn White, Events and Communications Director at BIFA, added: “Amanda’s appointment represents an important step in strengthening how we communicate the value we deliver to our members. Her experience will help us share more of the stories that matter and further elevate BIFA’s profile across the industry.”

Amanda Francis commented: “I’m proud to be joining BIFA at such a pivotal time for the freight and logistics sector. Freight forwarding is central to global trade, and I look forward to working with members and the media to highlight BIFA’s expertise and the critical role the industry plays in keeping commerce moving worldwide.”
