UAE-based cargo airline SolitAir has appointed OpenSky World as its Cargo Sales Agent (CSA) in Italy as part of its strategy to expand its presence in the European air freight market.

The agreement will see OpenSky World represent SolitAir’s services across Italy, supporting commercial growth and strengthening relationships with freight forwarders as the carrier continues to build its international network.

SolitAir, which specialises in airport-to-airport cargo operations, said the partnership forms part of a broader effort to increase connectivity between Europe, the Gulf region, Africa and Asia.

Strategic partnership to support growth

Hamdi Osman, Founder and Chief Executive of SolitAir, described the agreement as more than a traditional sales arrangement.

“This partnership represents not only an operational collaboration but also a long-term strategic alliance aimed at unlocking new business opportunities in the global air cargo sector,” he said.

Mr Osman added that the partnership would provide European freight forwarders with a dedicated business-to-business cargo alternative on routes linking Europe with the Gulf, Africa and other international markets.

He said OpenSky World’s established commercial network across Europe would help drive route development, strengthen customer relationships and identify growth opportunities where SolitAir’s services can add value.

Focus on new cargo corridors

Rossano De Luca, Chief Executive of OpenSky World, said the company was well positioned to support SolitAir’s ambitions in Europe.

“We are proud to support SolitAir as its Cargo Sales Agent in Italy,” he said.

Mr De Luca said the partnership would help strengthen trade links between Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia while creating opportunities for the development of new air cargo routes and logistics corridors.

He added that the collaboration would provide freight forwarders and logistics companies with greater capacity, flexibility and tailored cargo solutions as demand for global supply chain connectivity continues to evolve.

Rapid network expansion

The Italian appointment marks the latest step in SolitAir’s international growth strategy.

The airline said that in less than two years of operations, it has established a network covering more than 50 routes across over 30 countries, expanding its footprint in key global freight markets.

By strengthening its commercial presence in Italy, one of Europe’s most important logistics hubs, SolitAir aims to accelerate growth and further enhance cargo connections between Europe and emerging markets across the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
