Waev Inc has introduced a new industrial electric utility vehicle designed to simplify cargo handling operations across airports, ports and large industrial sites.
The Bigfoot XL Industrial Liftgate Truck combines the company’s existing Bigfoot XL electric vehicle platform with a factory-installed hydraulic liftgate developed by Tommy Gate.
The system is intended to allow a single operator to load and unload cargo between ground level and the vehicle deck without requiring additional lifting equipment, reducing manual handling and improving operational efficiency.
The vehicle has a payload capacity of up to 2,500 pounds and is aimed at fleet operators working in environments such as airports, campuses, municipalities and logistics facilities.
According to Waev, the truck has been engineered with a reinforced chassis, integrated ballast and systems designed to operate as a single unit, providing the carrying capability of a larger vehicle while maintaining a compact design suited to tighter operating environments.
An optional lithium-ion battery system is also available, offering a maintenance-free alternative to conventional power units. The battery is designed to operate in temperatures as low as -20F and can provide a range of up to 78 miles on a single charge.
Byron Dudley, vice-president of sales at Waev, said the vehicle had been developed in response to demand from fleet operators seeking more specialised cargo-handling solutions.
He said integrating the liftgate directly into the vehicle would help customers streamline operations while maintaining compliance and reliability across their fleets.
The Bigfoot XL platform is designed for all-day industrial use, with a top speed of 18mph and features including adjustable seating, enclosed cab options, heating and defrost systems.
The hydraulic liftgate offers up to 42 inches of vertical travel and can lift loads weighing up to 500 pounds using a fully enclosed hydraulic system designed to reduce maintenance requirements.
The vehicle is now available through authorised Taylor-Dunn dealers.
