Turkish Cargo has resumed operations at Maastricht Aachen Airport with two weekly flights, transporting flowers, perishables, and general cargo. The airport’s status as an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) allows goods to move swiftly through customs, thanks to strict security protocols.
Dean Boljuncic, Head of Commercial Development at Maastricht Aachen Airport, expressed pride in the airport’s dedicated cargo hub, highlighting its fast, efficient service and one-stop-shop model. “Our team’s commitment to high-quality handling and flexibility has played a crucial role in welcoming Turkish Cargo back,” Boljuncic stated.
Due to the airport’s strategic location, flowers can be transported by truck to Aalsmeer within two hours of landing—comparable to transit times from Schiphol. This efficient logistics setup contributes to the airport’s appeal for cargo operations.
Boljuncic noted that Turkish Cargo’s return reflects confidence in the airport’s operational excellence, reinforced by the Excellence Award the airport received from Turkish Cargo two years ago. With no slot restrictions and a well-connected location, Maastricht Aachen Airport aims to continue its cargo volume growth throughout the year.
