TAP operates emergency humanitarian flight in response to severe floods in Brazil

TAP Air Portugal has transported over 11 tonnes of emergency humanitarian aid on a specially chartered flight to assist flood victims in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul.

The cargo-only flight, organized by TAP and the Portuguese government, carried essential items such as clothes and hygiene products. The aid was packed in 1,195 boxes, weighing a total of 11,317 kilos and occupying 100 cubic meters.

The Airbus A330-900 neo took off from Lisbon Airport at 10:10 am on May 28 and arrived in São Paulo at 5:00 pm local time. The flight was manned by two pilots and two specially selected cabin crew members.

In addition to delivering crucial humanitarian aid, TAP expressed its deepest sympathies and solidarity with those affected by the devastating floods in Rio Grande do Sul.

TAP Air Portugal emphasized its strong commitment to the Brazilian market, operating more flights to Brazil than any other European airline, with 96 weekly flights and direct connections to 11 major cities across the country.
