Silk Way Alat Free Economic Zone Company (SW AFEZCO) has signed a landmark design and build agreement with FF Construction to develop the Silk Way Cargo Village within the Alat Free Economic Zone (AFEZ). This agreement encompasses the design, engineering, and construction of three key facilities: an air traffic control tower, a business aviation terminal, and a fire station, according to an official release from Silk Way West Airlines.
The air traffic control tower will feature advanced radar and communication systems, ensuring seamless air traffic management and safety. Additionally, the tower and associated facilities will adhere to energy-efficient and sustainable practices. The business aviation terminal is set to offer premium services, including VIP lounges, dedicated customs areas, and direct apron access for private aviation.
“This agreement is a significant step towards establishing a world-class logistics hub in Azerbaijan,” said Jawad Dbila, Managing Director of SW AFEZCO. “Partnering with FF Construction underscores our commitment to delivering innovative and sustainable solutions in aviation and logistics.”
Ayaz Soltanov, Director of FF Construction, remarked, “We are honored to collaborate with SW AFEZCO on this transformative project. Our expertise in complex infrastructure projects will ensure these facilities set new benchmarks for quality and sustainability, strengthening Azerbaijan’s logistics ecosystem.”
Guided by technical support from the International Civil Aviation Organization, the project aims to achieve Green Airport certification. Construction is scheduled for completion in 2026.
