SF Airlines Inaugurates New Air Cargo Route Connecting Ezhou Huahu Airport to Budapest

SF Airlines has inaugurated a new air cargo route connecting Ezhou Huahu Airport in central China’s Hubei Province with Budapest International Airport in Hungary. This route is notable as the first linking Ezhou Huahu Airport to Hungary and is SF Airlines’ third European route from this airport, according to Xinhua, China’s state press agency.

The service is operated by a Boeing 747-400 freighter, providing over 200 tonnes of air-cargo capacity with one round-trip flight scheduled weekly. The primary cargo on this route includes parcel express and e-commerce goods, reflecting the growing demand for efficient logistics solutions in these sectors.

Ezhou Huahu Airport, which opened in July 2022, is a cargo-centric hub featuring a 23,000 square meter cargo terminal, a nearly 700,000 square meter freight transit center, and two runways. The airport’s focus on cargo, while still accommodating some passenger traffic, positions it as a key player in the logistics landscape.

SF Airlines, headquartered in Shenzhen, is the largest air cargo carrier in China by fleet size. Since launching its first international cargo route from Ezhou in April 2023, the airline has built a robust international network, connecting Ezhou to various destinations across Europe, North America, the Middle East, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and East Asia. This expansion underscores SF Airlines’ strategic efforts to enhance global logistics connectivity and meet the increasing demand for international air cargo services.
