The cargo division of Australia’s national carrier, Qantas Freight today announced the launch of a new United States website allowing US-based freight forwarders to seamlessly search and book Qantas Freight capacity online.
The new Qantas Freight website is tailored specifically for the US market and gives American freight forwarders a personal portal where they can search schedules, view rates for all product options and book capacity on Qantas and Jetstar passenger and freighter services across the US, Australia and New Zealand.
The US website portal also allows forwarders to create templates for their unique preferred routes, reducing time spent creating bookings.
Igor Kwiatkowski, Executive Manager, Qantas Freight said, “The US market is incredibly important to Qantas, and we’re committed to delivering the best possible service to meet the needs of our customers here.
“The Qantas Group offers more dedicated freighter and passenger services than any other cargo operator across the Pacific, with more than 50 flights per week and over 550 tons of combined capacity across our passenger and freighter operations.
“The new US website was created in direct response to our customers who are embracing the broader industry shift to digital solutions which means they can access real-time information on capacity availability as well as a faster and more flexible booking process.”
Further website enhancements due for release in early 2025 include the option to book key trucking routes for combined road and air connections.
The site launch comes as Qantas Freight continues to expand its online presence with several digital booking and payment options to support growing trans-Pacific capacity on key US, Australia and New Zealand routes. In addition to the new and localised US website, Qantas customers can also now book Qantas Freight capacity on several neutral air cargo marketplaces, including WebCargo by Freightos and cargo.one.
Qantas Freight will roll out further online booking capabilities on additional online marketplaces in the coming months.
Mr Kwiatkowski added “The new Qantas website and online marketplace availability give customers more choice and the ability to instantly search, compare and purchase Qantas and Jetstar capacity on their preferred platform.”
Qantas Freight customers can also book capacity on the carrier’s famous Kangaroo route linking the UK and Australia direct or via Asia on the WebCargo by Freightos and cargo.one platforms, with capacity between South Africa and Australia to be added before the end of 2024.
Qantas Freight’s trans-Pacific network provides freight forwarders with the ability to streamline and improve operations with digital bookings between key US passenger and freight hubs, including Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), Chicago (ORD) and New York (JFK), and major Australian cities, such as Sydney (SYD), Melbourne (MEL), and Brisbane (BNE).
