Oman Air Cargo boosts UAE connectivity with daily Muscat–Dubai RFS

Share

Oman Air Cargo has launched a new daily Road Feeder Service (RFS) connecting Muscat and Dubai, expanding freight capacity between Oman and the United Arab Emirates and providing customers with greater flexibility for moving larger cargo shipments across the region.

The new service will operate every day between the two Gulf cities, supporting growing trade volumes by transporting goods overland while complementing existing air freight operations.

The initiative is designed to strengthen regional supply chains and improve connectivity for businesses moving cargo between the UAE and Oman.

According to Oman Air Cargo, the daily trucking service will enable the transportation of larger shipments, including freight that cannot be accommodated on narrowbody aircraft, creating new opportunities for customers with more complex logistics requirements.

Greater flexibility for regional cargo operations

The Road Feeder Service will handle a variety of cargo types, including perishables and general freight, while offering additional capacity for oversized consignments typically suited to widebody aircraft networks.

By integrating road and air transport, Oman Air Cargo aims to provide a more flexible logistics solution for customers seeking faster and more efficient access to regional and international markets.

Michael Duggan, Head of Cargo at Oman Air, said the new route would complement existing air freight services and enhance cargo mobility between the two countries.

“This new service creates greater flexibility for cargo movement between Dubai and Muscat by complementing traditional air freight operations and enabling the transport of a wider range of cargo types.

“As regional supply chains continue to evolve, Oman Air Cargo remains focused on delivering reliable, customer-centric transport solutions that support trade across the Middle East.”

Strengthening trade links between Oman and the UAE

The launch reflects increasing demand for integrated logistics solutions as businesses seek more resilient and efficient supply chains across the Gulf region.

Road feeder services have become an increasingly important component of air cargo networks, allowing airlines to extend their reach beyond airport hubs and provide seamless door-to-door connectivity.

For Oman Air Cargo, the new Muscat-Dubai operation is expected to strengthen trade links between the two neighbouring economies while expanding options for exporters, importers and freight forwarding partners.

The airline said the service would provide additional capacity for temperature-sensitive perishables and general cargo shipments, while supporting the movement of larger freight that would otherwise face limitations on narrowbody aircraft.
