Menzies Aviation has partnered with Airport Services Budapest Zrt. (AS Budapest) to expand its ground handling, cargo, and lounge services at Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport (BUD) in Hungary.
AS Budapest, the ground handling service provider for several major airlines at Hungary’s largest commercial airport, will transfer all existing contracts and assets to Menzies Aviation Hungary Kft as part of the new agreement, pending regulatory approvals. AS Budapest employees will be offered employment agreements with Menzies Aviation Hungary Kft.
Miguel Gomez Sjunnesson, Executive Vice President Europe, stated, “Joining forces with AS Budapest not only extends our footprint at BUD airport, but marks the next step in our European growth journey. AS Budapest has a long track record and strong client base, and we look forward to combining this with our international expertise and extensive reach at more than 297 airports in 65 countries. Together, we are committed to enhancing the experience for our airline customers, airport partners, and passengers traveling to Budapest, ensuring high-quality services and operational excellence.”
This partnership follows Menzies Aviation’s recent acquisition of a 50.1% stake in Groundforce Portugal, which manages more than 100,000 aircraft turns annually across five of Portugal’s busiest airports, providing ground and air cargo services to several global airlines.
