LATAM Cargo Launches Recycled Plastic Pallet Initiative in Chile

Share

LATAM Cargo Group has introduced durable, eco-friendly recycled plastic pallets in its Chilean operations, replacing traditional wooden and plastic ones. These high-density pallets, made by REHRIG PACIFIC COMPANY, are crafted from 50% recycled materials and are designed to last up to a decade—significantly longer than conventional alternatives.

This initiative aligns with LATAM’s commitment to sustainability, aiming for zero waste to landfill by 2027. Benefits include improved durability, hygiene, and resistance to extreme temperatures (-20°C to 60°C). Their unique red color aids identification and reuse, making LATAM the sole operator in Chile with this innovation.

The group plans to expand the use of these pallets across other South American markets, further promoting the circular economy and reducing environmental impact.
