Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) reported a 2.2% increase in cargo throughput over the first two months of 2025, handling a total of 718,000 tonnes.

Transshipments led the growth, rising 9.6% year-on-year, reflecting strong demand in the sector.

Cargo traffic to and from Europe and the Middle East saw the highest growth among major trading regions, highlighting HKIA’s role as a critical hub for international trade.

In February alone, HKIA handled 324,000 tonnes of cargo, maintaining levels comparable to the same month last year.

For the trailing 12 months, HKIA’s cargo volume reached 4.95 million tonnes, representing a robust 11.2% year-on-year increase.

This double-digit growth underscores the airport’s resilience and continued importance as a key player in global air cargo.
