Etihad Cargo Expands Capacity to Strengthen US Market Commitment

Share

Etihad Cargo, the logistics arm of Etihad Airways, is enhancing its commitment to the US market by offering increased air freight capacity. In partnership with network airlines, Etihad Cargo will introduce an additional 250 tonnes of capacity per week to North American destinations, addressing the growing demand for air freight.

Currently, Etihad Cargo provides 550 tonnes of wide-body capacity to North America, including 445 tonnes from the US via 30 weekly flights through gateways in New York, Chicago, Washington, and Boston. Additionally, the carrier offers 105 tonnes from Canada through daily flights to Toronto.

To meet increased demand for air freight between the East and the West, Etihad Cargo, in collaboration with network airlines, will introduce this new capacity with connections via European gateways such as Lisbon, Barcelona, Madrid, and Rome. These flights will operate under Etihad Cargo’s dedicated Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), ensuring seamless connectivity for partners and customers.

Stanislas Brun, Vice President Cargo at Etihad Cargo, stated, “Adding depth to the carrier’s US network and introducing incremental capacity for the North American market demonstrates the importance of this market and Etihad Cargo’s commitment to meeting customers’ needs and supporting global trade. Etihad Cargo recognises the vital role that air freight plays in connecting economies and is dedicated to providing seamless and reliable services to remain the air cargo partner of choice.”

This expansion underlines Etihad Cargo’s dedication to supporting global trade and meeting the logistical needs of its customers by enhancing connectivity and capacity in key markets.
