Leading African carrier Ethiopian Airlines has added Macau as its 10th dedicated cargo destination in China, further strengthening trade connections between China, Africa, Europe, and beyond.
Announced on April 3, the new service enhances the airline’s presence in the Greater Bay Area, offering twice-weekly flights with a total capacity of 400 tonnes per week.
Aman Wole, Ethiopian Airlines’ Country Director for Mainland China and Mongolia, highlighted the significance of the expansion on LinkedIn:
“This new route reinforces our presence in the Greater Bay Area, providing efficient air logistics for China-Europe and China-Africa trade. With twice-weekly flights and 400 tonnes of weekly capacity, we are expanding our global network to meet the growing demand for cross-border e-commerce.”
Ethiopian Airlines has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Macau International Airport, making it the first airline partner at the Hengqin Remote Cargo Terminal. This partnership marks another step in the airline’s commitment to innovation and enhanced global connectivity.
On social media platform X, the airline reaffirmed its dedication to facilitating seamless trade:
