DHL Express has appointed Abdulaziz Busbate as chief executive for its Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, effective January 1. Busbate will take over from Nour Suliman, who has transitioned to a non-executive advisory role as president of MENA.
With 24 years of experience at DHL Express, Busbate brings a wealth of knowledge to the position. He will be based in Bahrain and report directly to DHL Express CEO John Pearson. Busbate began his DHL career in Saudi Arabia and moved to Bahrain in 2014 as country manager, where he focused on service improvements and commercial growth. In 2021, he returned to Saudi Arabia as managing director, where he led enhancements in service quality, infrastructure investments, and workforce development.
Pearson praised Busbate’s appointment, stating, “His extensive experience, proven track record, and deep understanding of the region will be invaluable as we continue to drive growth and innovation in the MENA market, which remains strategically important for our customers and a source of talented employees for our global organization.”
Busbate shared his vision for the new role, emphasizing his commitment to strengthening DHL’s leadership in the MENA region. “My focus will remain on expanding DHL’s leadership position, enabling growth, and delivering exceptional service. We will continue investing in making DHL a great place to work and a pioneer in sustainable logistics, positively impacting the communities we serve.”
