BBN Airlines Indonesia, a subsidiary of Avia Solutions Group, has expanded its cargo fleet with the addition of a Boeing 737-400 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) to support growth in the Asia-Pacific region. This addition aligns with the airline’s strategy to strengthen its position in the region’s air cargo market and enhance its ability to meet rising demand for both domestic and international logistics services.
The new 737-400BCF joins an existing fleet that includes two 737-800BCFs and three passenger 737-800 aircraft, enabling BBN Airlines Indonesia to offer a comprehensive range of ACMI, charter, and airfreight services across the region.
Martynas Grigas, Chairman of BBN Airlines Indonesia, commented, “BBN Airlines Indonesia is committed to expanding our fleet to better serve the growing regional market. This addition of a Boeing 737-400 freighter reinforces our capability to meet the logistical demands of various industries throughout Indonesia and beyond.”
He added, “The 737-400SF is a reliable and well-regarded aircraft type within the region, allowing us to streamline our operations and provide dependable, fast, and wide-reaching cargo services.”
The 737-400BCF, manufactured in 1993 and converted by Aeronautical Engineers Inc. (AEI) in 2017, offers a maximum take-off weight (MTOW) of 65,090 kg and can accommodate 11 pallets, including 10 ULD 88″x125″x82″ containers plus an additional 53″x88″x64″ container, for a total cargo capacity of 129 cubic meters.
BBN Airlines Indonesia, which received its Airline Operator Certificate (AOC) in August 2023, has quickly established itself as a reliable airfreight partner in the Asia-Pacific region. With cargo rates in the Asia-Pacific traditionally higher than in other regions, recent data from market analyst WorldACD shows a 2% increase in rates, indicating sustained demand that BBN Airlines Indonesia is well-positioned to meet with its expanded fleet.
