Slovakia-based ACMI and charter airline AirExplore has expanded its cargo capacity with the addition of three Boeing 737-800 freighters. These new aircraft will be based at various European and Middle Eastern airports. Acquired by Avia Solutions Group last year, AirExplore is poised to meet the growing demand for airfreight services.
Martin Stulajter, Chief Executive of AirExplore, commented, “With the rise of e-commerce volumes around the world, airfreight operations are becoming more and more viable. At the same time, I expect phase-out of older aircraft types operating cargo routes for newer types like our B737-800 NG series.”
Last month, Bratislava Airport-based AirExplore confirmed it now operates five 737-800F cargo planes, four of which are under wet lease contracts. The company leases its entire fleet to customers across Europe, while operating one cargo aircraft on a scheduled cargo program. The new additions bring AirExplore’s total passenger and cargo fleet to 17 aircraft.
AirExplore is part of Avia Solutions Group, which also owns operators including SmartLynx Airlines, Avion Express, Bluebird Nordic, KlasJet, and Magma Aviation. The Group operates in 68 countries, serving around 900 destinations and transporting approximately 600,000 tonnes of cargo annually. It provides full and part charters, along with wet lease services, to integrators, charter brokers, and other European cargo airlines. Additionally, Avia Solutions has a presence at over 27 airports in Europe through its ground handling companies BGS and Aviator, offering cargo handling and other services for over 70 airlines throughout northern, central, and eastern Europe.
