Air France-KLM has scaled down its order for new A350F freighters after Airbus said the type’s entry-into-service will be delayed.
The airline group had eight A350Fs on order – but it has now reduced that number to six.
“This does not mean any change in strategy,” an Air France-KLM spokesperson told ch-aviation.
“We will continue to operate our hybrid model of freighter aircraft combined with belly cargo on Air France-KLM Group’s passenger aircraft.”
The news comes after Air France-KLM published its 2024 financial report.
The group saw cargo volumes up 4.1% year-on-year. However freight revenue was down 3.9% compared to the year prior.
For FY24, Air France-KLM reported an operating profit of €1.6bn with an operating margin of 5.1%.
The group’s revenues reached €31.5bn, representing a 4.8% increase on the previous year.
Meanwhile, operating cash flow stood at €446mn in spite of the negative impact of pandemic-related working capital deferrals.
Adjusted recurring operating free cash flow saw significant improvement, rising by €317mn to €271mn.
