Air Canada has announced a significant realignment of its senior executive team, with Mark Galardo promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, while continuing in his role as President of Cargo.
The airline confirmed the changes, effective from 1 May 2025, as part of a broader strategy to enhance cross-functional collaboration within its senior leadership.
Previously serving as Executive Vice President of Revenue and Network Planning alongside his leadership of the cargo division, Galardo will now also take on responsibility for Marketing.
This expanded remit includes overseeing the development and direction of the Air Canada brand.
Michael Rousseau, president and CEO of Air Canada, said: “Air Canada is now well underway with its New Frontiers strategy and in support of our growth program, which will accelerate as new aircraft begin arriving late in 2025, we are realigning certain senior executive functions.
“These changes will reinforce our management structure by promoting cross-functional capabilities among our senior executives, adding to the resiliency of our already very strong senior leadership team,”
Galardo’s promotion reflects the growing strategic importance of both cargo and customer engagement for the airline, as it continues to recover and evolve in the post-pandemic aviation landscape.
